Golf Glass

This photo of ‘Golf Glass’ is a macro photo of a golf ball in a small plastic cup.
To get this photo I placed a plastic cup on a table and filled with water. Had a background of white table slats to enhance the reflection of light and colours from the water. I then placed a drop of blue food dye into the cup and mixed the water to achieve a light blue colour. Then placed the golf ball into the water and topped the water up so the glass was full. This creates a slight dome caused by the water’s surface tension which refracts the light entering the water and shows us a skewed image of the ball on the surface.

I have taken a macro shot of a fake martini with an olive on a toothpick. The martini is just made up of water and red food dye added by an eye dropper. Photo was taken outdoors on a white table infront of a black cloth whilst the sun was directly above to allow the light to flow through the glass.
