This Macro Monday’s theme “Tie”.
Saw my daughter playing with these coloured rubber bands. She was getting them all tangled up and leaving them everywhere. So when she had finished, I was cleaning them up and found two rubber bands stuck together. I decided to tie two more together so that there was one of each colour and the above photo is what I came up with.

This Macro Monday’s theme “Tie”.
To create this photo I used two white tied elastic cufflinks, dipped each end in food dye (Red, Green and Blue). Rinsed off the excess food dye to lighten the colours then tied them by twisting the two cuff links together to hold them in position. They were then placed on a freshly wiped down black cook top to create pattern and reflection. Background was made by the use of a bracelet to make the bokeh effect.

For this week Macro Monday’s theme “Motion Blur” I used a miniature globe with minimal lights on set the aperture to f/15 and had the shutter open for 8 seconds. Held the base of the globe in place, and then continued to spin the globe for the full duration of the shutter being open.
Miniture old world zodiac globe made in Italy spinning, with the words Zona Fredda Settent (Cold North Area or Cold Seventh Zone).
Tried to capture three themes into one photo Macro, Motion Blur and Bokeh.

The S(pider’s)Curve circular shape spider uses to make a web to maximise transmissions along a radius from the the prey-catching zone to the middle of the web where the spider waits.
The spider saw me comming and ran for it. Would have liked to have the spider in shot.

Used this dead fly to practice macro photography on. The best thing about using a dead fly, they don’t move. You have time to set everything up, adjust the focus and try a few aperture settings to work out which would be best. After about 10 shots using different angles and apertures, I achieved this photo. My favorite part of this photo if the wings and legs.

Moving some things in the backyard I came across this moth sleeping on the underside of a bluestone. The good thing was that it stayed in the same position long enough for me to get my camera and set up the tripod. This allowed me to get a clear detail shot of the moth. I’m very happy with the way it came out.

Whilst looking through some old holiday photos I found this photo I had taken whilst ballooning in Egypt back in Oct 2010. It was an amazing experience just floating in the sky as the sun rose over parts of Ancient Egypt like the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut. Great adventure and would recommend to anyone, even if a bit hesitant of heights. Well worth it.

My 19 month old daughter Elina tried to stay up all day. She made it till 4:30pm then without warning she was out like a light. Could not help myself I had to get a photo of her sleeping on the couch to show her mum.

This is a close up shot of one of my 19 month old daughters drawings with texters.
She chooses the colours, leaving the lids and already used texters lying everywhere. They are always colourful and very busy filling almost every square inch of the paper. I’m kept kept on my toes by making sure she only draws on the paper not the walls, furniture, books, dolls or herself. This is one of my busiest job of the day. Looking after her even though it is not easy is the best and most rewarding job I have ever had.
